| World Greatest Conference for Automotive Lighting from 29. to 30. September in Darmstadt The "International Symposium on Automotive Lighting (ISAL) 2009" is organized by the light engineering depatment of the technical University Darmstadt under the special direction of Prof. Dr.-Ing. Tran Quoc Khanh. The ISAL is the biggest forum in which new research and developement-results of either universities and companies are introduced. Within more than 60 Talks the participants dicussed new trends and developements. Representatives of numerous well known companies like Automotive Lighting, VW, Audi,OSRAM and Philips, as well as Research Institutions and public authorities present the new research results. Beyond the talks, there were about 50 scientific poster-presentations to indroduce further research-results. Among the poster presentations there were topics that included LED's , Driver Assistance and Phsychology. In addition some of the poster presentations included new design and marketing topics. |
From 25. to 27.09.2009 the 9th Lux Junior, a forum for young academics and professionals in the area of light engineering, took place in Dörnfeld/Ilm near Ilmenau. The Forum was established by the light engineering department of the technical University of Ilmenau and the "Lichttechnische Gesellschaft e.V.". Several high quality presentations and talks around the field of light engineering were given which provided interesting insights in all areas of light techniques. The small community atmosphere makes it very easy to get into constructive discussion with other the participants. We would like to say thank you to the organisation - team of Dr. Vandahl and are looking forward to participate in the next Lux-Junior 2011!

On Tuesday May 5th, the top 19 European lighting experts were working together in a workshop organized by Driving Vision News at Stuttgart.
With them Willi Brandenburg, director of Brandenburg GmbH!
With the aim to enhance lighting innovation, and to strengthen links between lighting players and to challenge ideas and vision they worked on following topics:
Racing to Green Mobility
The annual conference of the society of automotive engineers took place from April 20th to 23th in Detroit. In coorporation with our US-Distributor (Lambda Research Corporation) Brandenburg GmbH joined the SAE World Congress. The participants focused on the topic "Racing to Green Mobility", concentrating on non-polluting and fuel-efficiant technologies. The automotive industrie will be changed completely, because many OEMs do not have the means and the know-how to develope those technologies.
Here is the chance for Brandenburg GmbH to act as a important supplier! Although there were decreasing numbers of participants, the annual SAE World Congress is one of the most important events in the automotive sector. There are great possibilities to present new technologies and to learn and inform on several topics during the congress.

The two-day symposium "LED in lighting engineering" ( LED in der Lichttechnik) took place in Essen for the fith time. As in the years before, the symposium produced an excellent atmosphere to discuss hot topics of lighting and illumination, focusing this time on solid-state lightsources.
Engineers from the automotive sector as well as architecs and light-planners were on site, accompanied by researchers, LED producers and representants of local authorities.
A wide variety of aspects of LED technology and its applications were treated, from manufacturing and quallity control- about electrical and thermal characteristics as well as the physiological aspects of color reproduction- to the point of automotive and street lilghting applications.
Dippl.-Inf. Wilhelm Brandenburg of Brandenburg Gmbh reported on "LEDs in Automotive Lighting Design with LucidShape".
He treated the modelling and simulation of light distributions for hogly precise LED optics in virtual expirements and the resulting potential of a sophisticated design, emphasizing the importance of appropriate emitter modelling.
