Image Lens is an „add on“ module to LucidShape which was created in cooperation with Fraunhofer Institute in Kaiserslautern, Germany. Basically, it calculates a free form lens or reflector setup to exactly reproduce a given light intensity pattern (for example, a photographic picture) on a target wall.

As input, Image Lens accepts any image data in usual formats,
plus the position of the light source (point or parallel)
and the target plane to be illuminated. As a result, the tool calculates
the desired optical setup (including the lens or reflector surface in NURBS
format).
