Draft Angle Analysis
With the new draft angle display, the optical designer can immideately examine the draft on surfaces. This can dramatically speed optical design work flow, and ensures the design can be produced. If areas of the surface are black they are below the required draft angle and must be corrected.

Luminace Camera
Capturing lit appearance images from an optical system can be very useful for analysing the unit's performance and ascetics. The Luminace camera is a way to view the lit appereance of any optical component, using far less memory than previously necessary. In addition, the luminace camera can capture the lit appereance from all the objects in the scene, not just objects thet have flow sensors.

IES Roadway Lighting Classifications
Street luminaries can now be displayed in such a manner as to identify their IES classification ( Type I, II, III and IV). In addition to the new street luminaire diagram ( pictured above), the street illumination application has also been inproved with new raod surface types nd more scene controls.
Polar Candela Plot
Sometimes viewing a candela distribution as a rectangular grid isn't very helpful ( especially a C type distribution). With the new polar candela plot, viewing a C type distribution is easier and more natural.

Dual Filament Macrofocal Application
Designing a reflector for dual filament bulbs such as the H13 and H15 used to be time consuming. The optical designer had to constantly change filaments to analyse how change to the reflector affected both beam patterns. Now this process has been streamlined by allowing multiple filament solutions within the same application.

Feature Modelling/Parametrization
LucidScript has evoled to the point thet feature modelling is now possible with several of the applications. No longer are seperate configurations files required to edit the application data. The configuration data and geometry is now stored in one file. It is a way to parameterize the lighting design intent, similar to many modern CAD programs.

LucidDrive- Consumer Reports Test Road
OEMs are beginning to use independent organizations to rate their headlamp beam patterns. In North America, Consumer Reports has emerged as one of the most trusted rating organizations. With the new virtual Consumer Report test road, headlamp suppliers and OEMs alike can visualize beam patterns the same way as Consumer Reports'testers.

LucidDrive- Traffic Simulation Technology
Since the introduction of light sources with increased luminance, it has become more important to examine the effects of glare caused by oncoming traffic; now possible with LucidDrive's new traffic simulation technology.

TC 4-45 and Benchmarking
Comparing different beam patterns is very important for improving performance. With the adoption of the new international standard TC 4-45, lamp assesment can be standardized. If all beam patterns are rated using the same standart, it is possible to develope a benchmarking system that can equally compare different beam patterns. LucidShape now offers beam pattern ratings using the TC 4-45 standart, and also offers benchmarking capabilities.
